Nah, Wayne, I haven't played a New Years Eve gig since the BBC staff
orchestra I worked with became redundant some twenty years ago.  We used to
do a live TV show across midnight to bring in the new year.  Bass trombone
really isn't the favourite choice of horn for playing small band gigs.  Here
in the UK, they're all done now by one man and a karaoke machine.
