Well, Jason, the Dies Irae predates Berlioz by many centuries, and many
composers have used it.  Why don't you ignore Berlioz' version  and write
something new and original for trombone using the theme, rather than
reducing a masterpiece for full orchestra down to one trombone?  
That would be much better, IMHO.
