Alex says that Royce Lumpkin has arranged this? Dang! That was on my list of things to do!

If you're in a race for time or just creative, you might want to use one of the choral editions. Hinshaw Music publishes three different versions in its Chanticleer Choral Series. These are probably available from any well-stocked music store.

In front of me, I have the version for TTB trio and TTBB men's chorus, i.e. four tenors, one baritone, and two basses. It ranges from D below the bass clef staff for the lowest voice, to A just above the treble clef (8va lower) staff. HMC1253, $1.25. You also get the words, which doesn't hurt. The page turns would be a drag. Only four pages, but there is a D.C. Playing it as written, it might be a little muddy, but maybe you could experiment with moving the upper voices up a fourth and the lower parts down a fifth to open things up?

Hinshaw also publishes a version for mixed voices SAATTBB, and another for Trio SAT with mixed chorus SATB.

For those of you who don't know the piece, Chanticleer recorded it. There's even a marching band arrangement that is quite effective: http://nikknakks.net/music/marching/04-006.htm

  Hope this helps!
