[Trombone-l] Who has one of these?

I know this is part of that old joke where the club owner hires a
band for New Year's Eve consisting of Trombone, accordion and banjo
at the last minute
because they are the only ones available. They are a smash hit with
the crowd. So he asks, "Will you play next New Year's Eve?"
And they reply, "Sure can we leave our instruments?" And of course
the trombone player puts one of these things on his horn!
