Has anyone tried the new Conn-Selmer student trombone, the TB701? The
bore size is ".509. It has a list price of $345, and is available as
low as $249.

I am trying to encourage my school to update its inventory. Surely
they are better in quality than our Soviet-era Eb alto peckhorns and
euphoniums that I would like to quietly (or loudly) drop into the dumpster
late some night. I have always played Conn trombones myself, and I
would love to see the company have a hit with this new one. And, at this
price, I could almost buy four of them for every Yamaha YSL-354, which
I have always considered to be the benchmark in this range.

How is the response? How is the sound? How is the slide? What
mouthpiece does it come with? How is the case? Sto molto curioso, as the
Italians say.

If you have negative comments, feel free to contact me off-list. (I
don't us to create more work for Steinway Music Group's legal team!)

  Thanks, y'all
