I just returned from spending a week in San Francisco, and had the pleasure of catching Oscar Peterson at Yoshi's in Oakland on the 7th, http://www.yoshis.com and a great Big Band at Pearls on the 11th,   http://www.jazzatpearls.com  the big band is called the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, and they are soooo tight.... A real treat for those of us who love big bands.

To the folks who live in the Bay area, you are soooooooooo fortunate.  To those of you who are planing on visiting there, enjoy.
