[Trombone-l] Sackbutt question

Much like the trombone, a great deal of the issue is in the leadpipe and mouthpiece. If you pull the leadpipe, and get a reasonable close or copied mouthpiece, you'll have an instrument as close (or closer) as many sackbuts on the market, regardless. You can even be a little sneaky with the gooseneck too. It may not sound like a Mainl Lauber, but it will function much as a Finke or Alexander or Giardinalli (one of the most common Alto's I've seen).
