I'd like to thank the poor, unlucky soul who lost his/her Jo-Ral cup mute on an airplane in the last number of months. My father and his best friend took a road trip to Scottsdale, Alabama...home of the unlcaimed and lost airline baggage:

It was there he found this slightly used trombone relic for a mere $10. I cannot promise you that I will return it to it's owner, for it was unclaimed, unwanted, and uncared for. I've given it a nice home with a dog and a cat...and a mute bag.
Also, I'll be giving a jazz-trombone masterclass at Columbus State University, Columbus, Ga, this Friday (9/08/06) if anybody in 'bone land is interested. The trombone studio is run by Brad Palmer, a crazy-good trombonist/pedagogue and all around great guy. The masterclass will be from 11:30-12:30ish at the Schwob School of Music. I promise to talk a lot about Albert Mangelsdorff.
