Hey George,
Try a Conn 8H. It's a excellent horn, very versatile and blends well
with everything. You can probably pick up a new one anywhere between
$1200 and $1700. I have an 88H (8H with trigger) and I use it for
everything. I've used it for solo work, chamber music, concert band,
orchestra, jazz band, dance bands... it's great. Conn 8H and 88H are
excellent horns. You can't go wrong.
