No, headroom has  a specific meaning.  It is the space between 0 db on the
meter and distortion.

If someone mis-uses a word, that doesn't make it a term of art, although I
don't really think Dan mis-used the word.  When he said headroom, I think
that was what he meant, we were just discussing how or if sample rate
affects headroom (which it doesn't).
