[Trombone-l] Marching band's tribute to their director

This is not specifically tuba-related, but IMHO any time a marching  band 

gets the lead story on the front page of a major newspaper (for doing  something good, BTW), it's worth mentioning. 



The retired director of the University of Akron (Ohio) marching band was  

dying of renal cancer. The marching band and its directors arranged to come and  

serenade him at his home. It's a nicely-written article about musicians doing  

something good. Check it out.
