i'm a computer geek (actually a linux geek), and i'd be very careful about
putting linux on an ipod. one of my colleagues did that and broke it. another
plugged the linux ipod into a windows box, windows told him his disk wasn't
formatted and formatted it. plus itunes doesn't play so nicely with linux-ed
ipods. 

if you do decide to put linux on your ipod, please make sure you know what
you're doing. :) same goes for linux on any other electronic device (laptop, pc,
whatever, ...) that already has data on it that you might want to keep.
