There are 12 dials. One for each note. Some notes are not represented
until very high in the OT series. It is easily plausible that those dials
would spin the other way. If you play a Bflat in tune the Aflat (7th
overtone) is going to be flat, according to the tuner.
I don't have the big 12 dial version. but I do have a small one dial version
with the switch to move to indicate which note you wan to tune. My
grandfather left it to me.
I think Strobeoconn was a brand name for the ones made by Conn. A company
called Petersen (or Peterson) also makes that style tuner.
