[Trombone-l] Old Conns

I wonder what vintage Frank Rosolino's horn was.  When I look at pictures of 
him playing, he does NOT seem to be playing on the larger 8" bell model that 
became common after sometime in the early to mid fifties, rather he seems to 
be playing a 71/2" bell.  He would have most likely have owned that horn 
since the mid or early 1940's.  He ultimately had it gold plated.  But the 
bell looks like it is the size of the older model 6H on these web links. 
The newer 1960+ version has the 8" bell.

Maybe someone who has examined the horn (it now is with Conrad Herwig?. . 
.least that's what I understand) could chime in about the bell size.
