I use a hot glue gun. Seems to work fine whether you're sticking the old
one back on, or making a new set out of railroad bed. It's ready to use
pretty much instantly. There might be a down side but I haven't found one.

Ouch! Oh, yeah, that. Watch your fingers.

Subject: [Trombone-l] Mute Cork Glue

Hello all,

A quick question: the cork fell off my Dennis Wick metal trombone mute
a few months ago. I tried both super glue and rubber/plastic cement
(independently) to get the thing to stay on, but to no avail. Was
wondering what types (or specific brands) of adhesive others have gotten
to work when adhering cork to metal.

Off or on list replies are fine.

Thanks,
Doug
