I'll try this again:

Joined Feb 1997, although I had been reading the archives prior to that.  
Thought I knew how to play trombone before joining but everything meaningful I 
know about playing I learned from my mentors on this list.  Of all those who 
have come and gone, I miss Gordon Cherry the most.  (I believe he is still here 
but he used to post more often.) 

I have said this before but I feel I owe many on this list thousands of dollars 
for the trombone lessons.   Well, don't look for a check soon but Wayne, the 
second Bud Light is on me.
