[Trombone-l] The Trombone Scam Continues

I have occasionally played along with scammers; for a while when I was
trying to buy a used car through eBay, I attracted lots of scammers
who sent bogus 'second chance offers' and wanted me to wire money to
Europe etc. I often kept them talking for a while, to keep them from
scamming less savvy people and to increase eBay's chances of
identifying them and reporting them to the appropriate authorities.

But generally, it's not worth the effort. Although there is a whole
culture of anti-scam 'scam-bait' tactics:

This implies that he doesn't even know what part of the country I live in. Part of me wants to play this and give bogus info........ but alas......I think I will just play it safe and hit the delete key.
