Exactly what I did with a brand new JoRal mute that didn't fit my  
Bach 16M (of all things).

Except -- I took the mute to my repairman and told him what was up...  
and HE did the cork build-up for me.  No cost.
FREE.

THAT's what customer service is all about, and why I buy local  
instead of mail ordering to save a few bucks.  I come out the winner  
in the long run, and our local music store stays open to service the  
schools.

But that's a whole 'nuther discussion.
