The six digit on the bell is the serial number.
No telling what the other is, maybe a part designation?
Thanks

Subject: [Trombone-l] Another King thing
Friends
I wanted to use the website Doug mentioned
(http://www.dancipsax.com/iserialkingbone.html) in regard to the King 3b to
date my 4b Sonorous model that someone told me was late 1970s.
I am confused by the fact there are two serial numbers - one on the bell
section is 726485, another on the slide is 8543. Which one do I use and how
old is the instrument really?
Any help appreciated.
Best wishes
Richard
