Might just add this caveat.  The silver finish to be goldplated must be in good condition.  Otherwise, it will have to be re-plated silver before the goldplating can occur.  And, this brings on an additional cost.  That was my experience with a mouthpiece that was sent to a nationally-known, big name plating service a couple years ago.
