Doesn't have to be off-list.
My 50B has no leadpipe, tho I seem to recall that a leadpipe is an option for new 50B slides (I don't recall if it's just lightweight or normal or both).
Further, I don't see any way to install a leadpipe in my slide.
Am I missing something? Is it worth retro-fitting?
And what about Mr Brown in the pantry with the dagger?

Dear Listmates,
At the risk of becoming the laughing-stock of the Trombone-List, I have this question: would somebody please explain to me - off list - what exactly leadpipes are and why they seem to have such an impact on the playing characteristics of a trombone? I own two trombones, a King 2125F and a 2B, both 1980 vintage - no leadpipes.

if not THE most difficult of instruments. I know, 'cause I have one..."
