[Trombone-l] leadpipe choices

At least for me, the better question is "what does swapping out the
lead pipe do for you?"
I'm sure it's different for each of y'all. Andy alluded that it made
the horn feel more open, less "run-over-by-a-bus."
I've often felt that it was real work to push the upper register on my
42. Would a...
[ ] longer
[ ] shorter
[ ] heavier
[ ] thinner
[ ] greater tapered
[ ] less tapered
...lead pipe help this?
Although, within the last year or so, I've felt my embouchure change
(or at least my approach) and am now getting higher with less pressure
than in the past. I used to have a bad habit of scrunching up the
shoulders, cramming the MP into my poor jaw and pushing as hard as I
could to go higher. I've since gotten too old & tired to put that much
effort into it. And now the higher range seems to come with much
greater ease.
Anyway, y'all's $0.02 is appreciated.
Cheers!
