i have one of these bags for a tenor trombone. the slide case on mine is too
short for the slide (the gooseneck part sticks out of the top) and there is no
cushioning between the bottom of the slide compartment and the bell, so i have
lots of nice little dings in the bell from the nubbin at the end of the slide.
[i'm using it for a beat up bach 42 which sounds great but looks terrible, and
my main horn is bass trombone, so it doesn't get much air and movement].
the carrying system is good and i did have a bike crash w/out damaging the horn
at all, so the rest of the protection seems ok. it's just the cushioning at the
end of the slide compartment that bugs me. and the colour. :)
other people on the otj have raved about them. i wouldn't go there, i'd get a
decent bag that you can use in all situations. the ribbing about bringing a
surfboard, tennis bag, golf clubs, etc. to rehearsal just isn't worth it. :)
your/his mileage may vary,
regards,
sb
