[Trombone-l] Alto 'bone

Well, your lips have to buzz the pitch, no matter the size  
instrument.  I tried doubling trumpet for a while, and had the same  
maxed out highest note on trumpet that I do on tenor trombone.

As for mouthpiece, it depends on what you want it to sound like.  I  
know a guy that played a 6.5 AL on alto and he sounded great, but he  
sounded like a great smaller lighter tenor.  Something really small  
(I've tried a Marc 15) will definitely give it a different sound from  
your tenor, and might make the really high stuff a little easier.

I don't play much alto, but when i do I use something in the 11C  
vicinity.
