That's the catch with the Hetmann's #9.  It is very difficult to get  
off...of anything.  When i got my Shires they used it on the spot  
where the braces screw to the bell.  When i took the valve off to put  
the straight pipe on, I got some on the bell, and it took a team of  
engineers to get it off (ok, that might be a bit of an  
exaggeration).  It does make those joints feel solid tthough.
