Talking about tuning slides...

I was fooling with a Duo Gravis, pondering addig it to the collection,
when, while playing it, I kept noticing it kept getting sharper and
sharper.  The tuning slide kept slipping IN.  

The thing slipped and slud nearly about as smoothly as the slide..
Another reason I didn't add it to the arsonal, but still.  Question:
How do you make a tuning slide LESS slick?

No matter HOW good looking anybody is in my section. . . .they are NOT
getting my lip balm. . .

Which is:

Vaseline.  The kind in the squeeze-lip-balm kind of container.  Only use
it when I feel like a chapped lip situation is coming on.  Typically
during very windy "Santa Ana" conditions.

Would double in an emergency for lube for the tuning slide.  (gotta have
that. . .just in case you zip off with that old horn you haven't had out
in years. . .and find the tuner is stuck!)
