SOooooo the football helmet & leather vest from "Easy Rider" aren't 
considered "safety gear"?

Actually, in the late '80's my dad got a vinyl Michael Jackson zippered 
jacket knock-off in bright red that he used to wear all the time while 
riding his fully dressed blue '74 BMW R60/6. Nobody could say they 
missed THAT spectacle toolin' down the interstate....

He still has the bike. (I told him he's not allowed to get rid of it 
and has to will it to me!) Thankfully the MJ zippered jacket has been 
retired for some time.
