Watching all of these high-end brand names go by, I hardly feel like
de-lurking. But I use a Bach 6 3/4 C on my small-bores (either a Bach
16M or a [Mount Vernon] Bach 6) and Conn/Lindberg's 5CL on my
large-bore. I carry a couple of alternates to fend of boredom (e.g. a
Bach 19C for high/loud small-bore playing, or a Bach 3G for
low-register tenor playing), but generally stick to my favorites. If
my chops aren't working, switching mouthpieces during the gig doesn't
help. :)

PS I play bass trb about 3x a year, and own a nice Holton bass, but
have never found a bass mpc comfortable enough to play rarely on. I
have some big equipment from when I played much more often (e.g.
Yamaha 60) but I get better tone on my occasional bass gigs by using a
3G or 2G.
