I have a large shank 5GS, my understanding of that difference is that the
5GS is shallower than the 5G.
Just to throw a monkeywrench in, I've also got a small shank 5GB

version of the 5G is a 5GS just as the large shank version of the 6.5A is a
6.5AL. However, I am old and get confused rather easily. The bottom line
is that Bach manufactures the mouthpiece in a small shank configuration and
it is readily available.
