I was 1983 and I was 14 yrs old.  My parents had just bought me my first
"real horn", a 78H, after making All-State.
We were in a hurry to get to church (where I was playing a solo that
morning) and running a little late.
The car was still locked so I set my horn down and I ran in to get the key
but met my mother on her way out of the house.
We jumped in the car to go and when my mom backed up we heard the terrible
"crunch"...she asked if I had left the garbage can behind the car....you can
figure out how this part ended...not well.
Damage was a crunched case and a flattened bell assembly...the slide was
still perfect...thank goodness for homeowners insurance!
