It is enheartening to hear about a "good guy" mechanic.  You are lucky to 
work with such a guy.  Cars are really just a stylish self-torture device. 
Right now I'm waiiting to save a few bucks up so I can replace the 
"regulator" in my driver's side window.  This means I have to open up my 
door to buy junk food at Burger King. . .makes it less appealing. . .(it is 
already pretty unappealing except from a time management standpoint). I'm 
getting the technique down, however because I can't give up those burritos 
at Taco Bell.
