I may well be wrong.  It's been a long time since I played with an analog 
synthesizer and even longer since I studied that stuff.

But also, I think I'm thinking about that particularly annoying sound when a 
clippers is adjusted wrong.  When it's quietly humming...well...I don't like 
the sound and I don't like the sound of a clarinet, so in that way, theyare 
similar.
