Point well taken, Jeff.
Ive had one other small problem with the Brace. Sometimes it doesnt fit
snuggly enough, and if you over tighten, then it messes up the alignment in
first position. If its not tight enough, the thing falls off.
The simple solution is to cut a small piece of duct tape and insert it
between the Brace and the slide. You can then use a sharp knife to trim the
tape after you position the Brace if you are conscious about it. No one
knows that theres a small problem, and you can use it with confidence.
Ive used the tape solution on my LT slide, and its great. Ill give a
report later on the brass slide, but I suspect that Ill like it.

I think gear choices that make no difference in sound, but make the horn
feel better to the player are good choices. If it feels better, then the
player is more confident, and good music is a more likely outcome. That is
a positive effect.
