Stan,

She would be 122 years old this year. And I wonder if she would have be able 
to
understand the concept of a "CD". I remember a French lady who was said to 
have lived to 122,
so I guess Sophie would have been belting them out even today, if things had 
gone differently for her.
I remember her from the early days of TV, maybe the Ed Sullivan Show.

No, this is not off topic although many reading are not familiar with
Sophie's work. The interest may be in the description of her voice as well
as a famous trombonist who accompanied her on several recordings. The
