Ultimately, it’s you who have to listen to most of your alto playing and you 
who have to be pleased with the results.

Also, there is no ideal setup, only good compromises.  The rest takes 
practice, with whatever setup you settle on.

So if you’re happy with the tone you’re getting with the Wick, stay with it 
for a while.  I don’t shun away from changing mouthpieces.    If a different 
mouthpiece requires that I make different muscles, then I get to make 
different muscles.

For me, the mouthpiece is the least of my problems with playing alto.  
Mostly, I get mixed up as to where harmonics are on alto.  And then I get 
mixed up again, when I go back to tenor.
