[Trombone-l] Beethoven's Fifth and Koncert fur Violine

The parts you have were not written for trombone.  They are "trombe" or
Trumpet parts.

There are no trombone parts to the Violin Concerto.  I did get to play the
bassoon part once; nice part.

Maybe you can convince your orchestra to let you double the celli?  Cover
the horn parts?  Who's missing?

for Trombones in D and in treble clef.  I've
transposed it to C and bass clef, but first runs up to
a high E.  I'm sorry, but I'm not a pro and my range
is normally limited to high C and D.  I can hit an E,
but it's rather random.  The second bone is the same
down an octave.  Has anyone had any experience with
this piece? Would it be better to take both parts down
an octave or to keep them as is and just take the too
high notes down (or not play them at all since they'd
be doubled in second)?<
