Of course, being non-union, we receive considerably less money, and no royalties. It's still good money for us, but not much more more per hour than the typical bar gig. So, I'm wondering, how much do the people actually save? What is the typical going movie score rate in, say, LA? I have a feeling that it's probably more per session than the $280 I got paid for the 9 hours of recording was. Then again, that practically pays my rent for the month, so I'm not complaining.

Well, the LA guys would know better than I, but I'm guessing that they
get $280 for about 2 hours of recording or so. You're getting about $31
an hour. In Dallas we get at least $75 per hour.
They are taking advantage of you and saving thousands which goes right
into somebody's pocket. Not to mention any reuse payments, residuals,
etc. and the Special Payments fund and your pension contribution.
