Just curious, on the movie thread- there's been a couple of scores recorded in Monterrey w/ the orchestra or players for the orchestra now, the first of which did list all the players ("Las lloronas"), the second, "The Dukes", has not come out. Of course, being non-union, we receive considerably less money, and no royalties. It's still good money for us, but not much more more per hour than the typical bar gig. So, I'm wondering, how much do the people actually save? What is the typical going movie score rate in, say, LA? I have a feeling that it's probably more per session than the $280 I got paid for the 9 hours of recording was. Then again, that practically pays my rent for the month, so I'm not complaining.
