Yes, the Boss is a great tuner, that's what I've had for about 23 years 
(the same one) and it works great.  It's does work down way into the 
pedal tone range.  However it's not cheap at all, and it's not very 
small either.  I believe the question originally was about a good cheap 
tuner.  The Boss also has no auto-off feature, so when I forget to turn 
it off (which is all the time) it stays on until the battery is dead and 
those 9V batteries cost over $3 each.  I do love the tuner though except 
for that.
