I recently saw an ad on Chase Sanborn's web site, Brass Tactics, for a tuner that clips on the bell and reads vibrations .  This can be a real advantage in performance situations and tuning sessions.
I use an older Yamaha model but need a wired mic, clipped on the bell so that other's pitches wont interfere with my tuning.  Cumbersome.  I haven't tried Chase's new gizmo but plan to.  Looks pretty good to me.
