A divine obsession, perhaps.

Verdict's not in yet.

But DEFINITELY an obsession of some sort.

Unless addiction might be a better choice or words.

There is no other reason on earth why ANY of us would try to 
semi-master this beast.

The pay scale for the effort is is simply not commensurate with the 
requisite effort.

Not on ANY level except ...

Except possibly on the level of divinity, again for lack of a better word.

And yes, paying attention is STILL the hardest act of all.
