I wouldn't say "obsessed," Sam. Merely "very focused."

When I was studying with Toby Hanks, he had me doing the same thing  
on most exercises- Play until you run out of air, take a breath, pick  
up where you left off. That way, I only learned how to keep a good  
sound when playing, and never got into the "starving for air, but at  
least I made it to the rest, albeit with a crappy tone" syndrome.
