What about the USAF interceptor pilots in the 1960's that tried to
intercept UFO's. I believe they were called Foo Fighters.

During the end of WWII period, the Messerschmidt 262 was referred to by
the
Air Corps
personnel on B17's and B25's as Foo Fighters.
