"For a less scatological insight into the use of the word "Foo" you could go
to the old "Smokey Stover" comic strip, the hero of which was a whimsical
firefighter."
Fred, I thought Smokey Stover was dead and gone like so many other great old
comic strips, like L'il Abner. I'm very glad to see that he still exists,
and still more glad to finally find out what "Notary Sojac" means. I always
though it was a play on the term Notary Public. It is also kind of ironic
that the artist who created Smokey Stover was....Bill Holman!
Thanks for sending in the web site http://www.smokey-stover.com/
Very interesting for the old folks who actually remember great humor like
this. Comic strips today are lucky be half as funny and creative and many
are less.
