i play one of these -- it's a great horn. it sounds great, the slide is really
good (nickel-silver, slightly scratchy to begin with, but loads faster than the
slide on the new yamaha 682 i played for a while). i play mostly symphonic wind
and big-band with it, and haven't stuck out like a sore thumb yet. :) it also
works well in quartets. i haven't played it in orchestra properly yet, but my
teacher thinks it should fit well too. we'll see.
