I found this from WindSong Press at:
http://www.windsongpress.com/CD/phillips/phillips%20cd.htm

Checking his album credits he's listed as playing
trombone (including his Superbone), trumpet,
euphonium, double-bell euphonium and bari sax--an
immensely talented musician who went before his time.

Here's the WindSong listing:
ASHLEY ALEXANDER (1934-1988) was a favorite
improvisational partner of Rich Matteson An
outstanding jazz player on euphonium and trombone,
Ashley taught applied brass and conducted jazz
programs at The University of Northern Iowa and Mt.
San Antonio College. Walnut, CA. For many years he
maintained a busy freelance schedule as a performer
and clinician. He was featured at numerous jazz
conferences and workshops throughout the United States
and Canada. Ashley is remembered with much fondness,
admiration and respect by all who knew him.
