[Trombone-l] Alice, Where Art Thou?

The site mentioned in my previous e-mail, 
http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/, contains some really fascinating history 
about the cylinder as a recording medium. "Alice" was recorded on a 
cylinder. The technological changes that have taken place in over 100 years, 
have given us wonderful sound recording capability. I wish much of today's 
popular music had progressed at the same rate. In fact, I'm afraid much of 
it has regressed.
