[Trombone-l] Valve lubricants

Does anyone know what is the difference between the lubricants used for 
piston valves and that used for rotors? If there is a difference what is the 
essential difference in the tasks each needs to perform?

I'm intrigued as I need to use both: rotary oil on conventional rotors and 
piston oil on hagmann valves.
