[Trombone-l] This won't ever happen again

I've always felt that when things get really bad, I'll move to another
country. But I got through the Viet Nam war and I guess that wasn’t really
“that bad”. And things haven’t been “that bad” since, or maybe I’m just
more firmly planted than ever.

And then, there are those European countries, where the government actually
does seem to care about its people, except that it costs money to actually
take care of the people, so workin’ fools have almost nothing to show for
it, after taxes.

And so I count my blessings that I at least live in a blue state, and prey
that the oceans don’t rise and flood my basement, etc. Come to think of it,
the way we do levees, around here, this country could become a series of
islands, the Appalachians (etc), the Rockies, the Sierras, Hawaii, and Mt
McKinley. Perhaps this is yet another reason why I’m looking forward to
dying young.

Is my 50 minutes up, already?
