[Trombone-l] This won't ever happen again

Dear Jason,
I'm really astonished that you have listed Robert Isele. Not because
he doesn't belong there. But because, when I was growing up in
Washington, DC., I lived two blocks from the Marine Barracks at 8th
and G Streets SE. Every Sunday, I used to walk up to the Barracks to
listen to the Marine Band play for some military ceremony, parading
of the colors or some such. But I went primarily to listen to Robert
Isele. He marched in that band and I greatly admired him.
I wonder if you know the name Robert Clark? He was the principal
trombonist before Isele. I know him because I took lessons from him
at the Boys Club of Washington when he was already an old man. I
don't even know if he played then. I had the lack of curiosity about
the past of child, I'm afraid.
Thanks for remembering.
